HAPPENING NOW!

I’m always thrilled when the monthly editions of Jeanne d’ Arc Living arrive from Copenhagen.  Every issue is filled with French-inspired, neutral décor with beautiful antiques, gardens, linens, interiors and seasonal recipes.

The most recent copy arrived last week and featured outdoor articles dear to the hearts of the residents of Denmark.  The weather is still a bit chilly there but the warmer summer days are just ahead.  The article below describes the region's beautiful canola flowers "swaying in the breeze and giving off a slightly particular fragrance."


Another article (below) focuses on a home in the northernmost part of Holland.  Written under the title of "French Vintage", the photos are absolutely gorgeous!

Saturday, June 22 - Come Explore Chalk Paint®!

9:00 am – 12:00 pm, $95

Based on Annie Sloan’s classic book, Quick and Easy Paint Transformations, we will learn five basic steps from this invaluable resource.  We will learn, Two Color Distressed Finish, Modern Finish, Rustic Finish, Soft Gilded Finish, and Crackle Finish.  Just wear clothes for painting, and I will provide everything else that you need to learn these fun and exciting ways to use Chalk Paint®.

Sunday, June 23 - The Chic Yet Utilitarian Bulletin Board with Susie Tackmier

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm, $120

Be organized and have a dapper home at the same time.  Come and join Susie in a fanciful re-creation of the humble bulletin board and elevate your domestic organization to a new level of beauty.   

 

Susie will provide cork, a foam core (backing board), wire for hanging, vintage wallpaper for the dust cover, glue, pins, beads, and lacquer.  You can bring your frame and fabric to fit the frame or purchase the fabric we have in the store.  This will be a fun class with lots of creative ideas and options!

About My Store/Holiday Closures

My store is an ongoing mix of home decor collections and romantic moods.   I think interiors these days can be so much more than one style or look.  Gift certificates from The Purple Pear make great gifts and apply toward all purchases, including my workshops. 


The Purple Pear is centrally located in Portland, Oregon at 6016 NE Glisan Street.   Our telephone number is 503-206-6554.  We are open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and closed on Sunday and Monday.  

Holiday Closure:  We will be closed on July 4th.
